In 2016, I got down to Dhaka, the capital of Bangladesh, and photographed a boy's life in photos.

The name of the boy who is 15 years old is Riaji.

He works as a conductor for a large bus that runs in Dhaka.

His day starts at 4:30 in the early morning.

Heading to the parking lot of the bus with his cousin, Beth, in the dark that night is yet to break, we will clean the inside and outside of the car, refuel quickly and run the bus to the bus terminal.

And if you bring in customers loudly and have a certain number of passengers, it is a departure.

One and a half hours each way back and forth dozens of times a day, carrying passengers, collecting fares, carrying new passengers, work will continue until about 23 o'clock.

It is past 0 o'clock when it returns to the house where parents and sisters wait. Soon after that, the morning came, and at 4 o'clock in the morning, Riaji headed to work. It is this work that summarized his life like that. 

2016年、僕はバングラデシュの首都ダッカに降り立ち、ある少年の生活を写真に収めました。

15歳になるその少年の名はリアジ君。

彼はダッカ市内を走る大型路線バスの車掌として働いています。

彼の1日は早朝4時半に起きる所から始まります。

まだ夜が明け切らぬ暗闇の中を彼の従兄弟のベス君と共にバスの駐車場まで向かうと、車内外の掃除、燃料補給を手早く済ませ、バスターミナルへとバスを走らせます。

そして、大きな声で客を呼び込み、ある程度の乗客が揃えば出発です。

片道およそ1時間半の路線を1日に何十往復もしながら、乗客を乗せ、運賃を徴収し、また新しい乗客を乗せて、およそ23時まで仕事は続きます。

両親と妹が待つ家に帰り着く頃には0時過ぎ。そしてすぐに朝がやってきて、早朝4時には仕事に向かうリアジ君。そんな彼の生活をまとめたのが本作です。
